One of the most important, yet overlooked items in any engine combination is the exhaust system. The exhaust system has the possibility of making HP and cooler running with better fuel economy, or killing power, melting heads and sucking down fuel by the gulp.

It never ceases to amaze me how many guys will go to the ends of the earth to modify an engine to breathe better on the intake side of things, and increase engine efficiency and then slap on a crappy exhaust system and kill the entire engine and its performance possibilities. If they would have spent 30 minutes next to me on my dyno they would not do this! The performance results of a good exhaust system are endless- period.

I have arranged here the widest selection of exhaust systems for the Type IV engine conversion- by far. Until very recently a good Type IV header system that was affordable did not exist! Thanks to some dedicated team members of the 4th dimension we were able to get one of the most well known Type I header companies to make us a Type IV conversion header! In direct testing this header made almost 8% more torque and HP than any other system available. We are working on expanding our line up even further by introducing even more conversion exhaust made especially for Porsche 356, 912 VW Bus and VW Type III along with an off road system as well.

Of course, we offer the standard tried and true exhaust systems for VW busses and will be adding more systems for the Porsche 914. The Tangerine Racing header is still the cat’s meow for the Porsche 914 and Chris at Tangerine Racing is working on making his whole line up of exhaust systems more updated since our recent testing!

Here you will not find any stock mufflers, only header style exhausts. I have proven that the stock muffler, even on a stock engine promotes valve and cylinder head issues and therefore we don’t use them on our engines, or sell them for yours!
